Easter Displays and Flowers
The Church was beautifully decorated for the Easter Services.
Rector Paul spoke to the children about a range of Easter time symbols such as eggs, rabbits, bonnets etc explaining that the thing that really matters is not an external symbol but Jesus’ spirit within us.
He did seem to enjoy demonstrating an Easter Bonnet.

Good Friday – Messy Church
The story of the hot cross bun
Children and adults decorated eggs, made biscuits and made a huge hot cross bun.
Curate Jackie then explained the meaning of the cross on the bun. She used the decorated lower half of the bun to remind us of the story of the first Good Friday and how the sadness of the tomb turned to joy on Easter day.

Sermon Player – 18th March 2012
Rector Paul Norrington spoke on this mothers day of how mums treat us with compassion, love, patience, humility and gentleness. He went on to say how God treats us with these same attributes through Jesus His Son.
After the talk, adults and children assembled flowers and these were displayed on a tree.

Walking group – March 3rd
Be together – be fit – be fed
Thanks to Robert Pilgrim for organising our first walk of the year.
Church members and friends met at the pub in Wormingford, ordered lunch and set off on the 4 mile walk on footpaths and tracks in some of the most beautiful countryside in Essex.
The party was swelled by others joining us for lunch together with Rev Paul Norrington hot foot from a diocesan meeting.
Walks this year – 3rd March, 16th June 2012 and 22 Sept 2012

The BIG Christingle
All age event
This year we worked together to make a BIG Christingle
Loved by children and adults alike, this candlelit celebration was an ideal way to share together the key messages of the Christian faith.
The celebration
Our Christingle celebrations included table based craft activities making individual Christingles and the making together of a HUGE Christingle. The main element that is universal to all Christingle celebrations was the lighting of the individual Christingle candles.
Symbolism
The orange – represents the world
The red ribbon – indicates the love and blood of Christ
The dried fruits
