Spirit Space

Spirit Space is on the 2nd Sunday of the month with Coffee and Cake from 6pm-6:30pm with the service commencing at around 6:30pm. There is no fixed end time although most services are between 60-90 minutes. Feedback has been that the service style has allowed some quiet and reflective moments in setting up in readiness for the week ahead. There is interaction with one another and a time to listen to God.

Spirit Space follows a theme but with the freedom for different people to be involved in the service through prayer, activities, personal testimony, interactive sermons, Taize-Style Worship and other forms of Worship appropriate to the setting.

In 2017 we followed a theme of “Encounters with God” which opens up the opportunity for people to share their personal testimony related to a particular story within the Bible highlighting the very personal journey we make. Whilst the testimony takes up about 10 minutes within the overall service it is surrounded by a reflective activity that we can relate our personal journey to. As always with Spirit Space we have excellent worship led by Matt.

Our first session of the year was on refugeeism with a story shared by a refugee and the family that took them in.

Our second session is based on the Prodigal Son and is a story being shared by our Reader Sara.

We always welcome individual to become involved in the service whether through personal testimony, helping out on the sound desk, being a part of the musical worship or if creative, becoming involved in a creative part of the service.

Please let Simon know by email simon.prestney@recruiterz.co.uk, by phone 07760 786730 or have a chat after a Sunday morning service.

In 2016 we followed a theme of Fruits of the Spirit from Galatians 5.

We had some great contributions and have been on a journey of softening our hearts to the Lord and growing the fruits in our lives.

In 2015 we followed a theme of Gifts of the Spirit from Corinthians 12:8-10

Contributions from individuals, couples and groups (internal and external) have been welcomed where specific Gifts of the Spirit have been unpacked and explored.
